A Slice by Miss Amenta

One time when I was in college I had a friend who knew someone who helped run the circus. We got to go see the circus at the United Center for free! Not only that, but before the show started we got to go back stage and see the animals that were going to be in the circus.

When I walked back behind the big red curtain, right in front of me was a ginormous elephant! It was so big that I thought if it lifted up it’s big foot it could have stomped me flat! The man in charge of the circus said we could pet the elephant if we wanted. The elephant looked like an old man with it’s wrinkly, grey skin. I expected it to feel smooth, but actually he had rough hair all over his body. As I was reaching out to pet him, I felt something wet on my foot. I looked down and saw the elephant’s trunk on my shoe. He was sniffing my foot and trying to see if there was any tasty food on there. I didn’t mind that my foot was a little wet, it was worth it to meet that elephant.
